(Alright, this is just mostly my musing as to how I envision Reize when he eventually grows up. Sadly, that won't happen until I ever complete his Young Reize Journey. But, again, this is where I throw my musings.)

Age: 16-17 (left) / 18-20 (right)

Class: Swordsman (with magic augmented items) / Swordmage / Mystic Knight

Quote:  "I will have nothing left if you take the adventure out of my life. As I see it, if my life can be an inspiration to others, I will be happy."

Profile: Growing up in a small village, Reize was raised upon stories of exploration, adventure, and heroics by his father, once a well-known explorer and knight. Over the recent years, Reize made a name for himself through his actions, fighting for the people while in his journey. He was regarded by the public as 'The Boy With the Long Yellow Scarf'. Now, he is a Knight Errant, who continues his travel to learn about the world. While he still maintains his enthusiasm and curiosity for adventure, his journey has helped him mature. He still tends to show up at the wrong place and the wrong time, he easily turns it to the right place at the right time. Skilled with a sword, Reize takes his role as the Knight Errant.

Skills: Boy Adventurer Grown-Up, Heart of Gold, 'Wrong/Right Place, Wrong/Right Time', Resourceful, Adept Hunter, Walking the Earth, The Drifter, Code of Honor: Knight's Vows, Knight Errant, Grand Storyteller

So, this is where I get critiques. Now, I am not new to RPing, but I am new to the whole Livejournal/Dreamwidth-esque gig of RP. So just let me know how I'm doing.

[Inside of a cavern, there were a group of beaten bandits. Sitting on his makeshift throne was the Bandit King, who sported a large welt on the side of his face.]

BANDIT KING: Damn that brat and that gang... They'll pay for this...

???: Where is this boy... The boy with the long yellow scarf that I've heard so much about?

[BANDIT KING looked surprised and scowled.]

BANDIT KING: Tsch. Who the hell is there?! Bah, whatever, information like that does not come for free, y'know!

[A look of confusion fell on the BANDIT KING's face when the rest of his crew scrambled up and cleared the way. As a figure in full armor and a dreadful face-covering helmet arrived, a group of knights followed behind him. The BANDIT KING quickly stood full attention upon realization.]

BLACK-ARMORED KNIGHT: How about this for the price? /Your life/ if you do not tell me.

BANDIT KING: The Black Beast! It is an h-h-honor to meet you! Please, forgive my insolence...

[Although the BLACK-ARMORED KNIGHT was shorter than the BANDIT KING, he lifted him by the throat and slammed him to the wall while withdrawing a large curved sword. The bandits scrambled back, knowing that daring to draw arms against the offender would be the biggest mistake of their lives.]

BLACK-ARMORED KNIGHT: Do not make me repeat myself. NOW!

BANDIT KING: That boy! They said his name is Reize Seatlan! He and his group made mention of going north! Please, I don't want any trouble, sir!

[The BLACK-ARMORED KNIGHT tossed the BANDIT KING aside and then turned away to gaze at the knights under his command.]

BLACK-ARMORED KNIGHT: You heard him. Move it. We will find him and his band. That boy is mine and mine alone.

[Without even facing the BANDIT KING, BLACK-ARMORED KNIGHT twists the sword to slice through him. Blood splattered over his armor. The bandits backed away and scrambled away. ]

BLACK -ARMORED KNIGHT: That's for taking too long for giving me my answer.

Quote: "Have you ever wanted to relive the adventures that those before you, and yet, at the same time, go beyond their path? That is why I am traveling."

Profile: Growing up in the small simple village, Reize was raised upon stories of exploration, adventure, and heroics by his father, once a well-known explorer. His boldness and desire to prove himself led him to become a skilled hunter and develop an unconventional twin boomerang and self-taught martial arts style. Enthusiastic and compassionate, Reize makes friends easily, and he is idealistically committed to his own imagined 'Knight's Vows,' despite their ambiguity. Though his bumbling and lack of navigational abilities tend to cause him to show up at the wrong place at the wrong time, he is nevertheless eminently adaptable, and now on the path to becoming an explorer.

Luck. Ever.

A shooting star symbolizes a fleeting moment in one's life. It is filled with the wonder of mankind and is sometimes regarded as the symbol of reaching one's ultimate destiny or even a chance of a better life. As such, people often make wishes upon that fleeting star.

In a way, it takes those those dreams, hopes, and wishes and carries them passes through the sky. During the course of its journey, it breaks apart as it falls towards the earth along with the wishes of mankind. The shards often land within the earth, mostly within the magical essence. However, because the shards have broken apart, it does not hold the charge that it once did as a full shooting star. Yet, it does retain quite a bit of power. While not able to grant wishes in its current form, it does hold a gift for those who possess it. The shards react strongly to those who have a high sense of imagination and wonder, and faith in the former two. Often, it is normally children because they often carry those important traits. After all, if they believe it is real, then they are rewarded with the sight.

"Open your mind, open your heart, and the truth shall be revealed to you."

The Gifts that the shard presents:
  • Ether Eyes: One of the gifts that is presented is the ability to see the flow of magic in the air. They can see the aura that manifests from those who channel it as well as the traces of magic left in the air. This will allow them to have the aptitude to judge and evaluate the magical forces as well.
  • Limited Access Magic: The shard carries a limited amount of magical power that the user can use daily. Though the pendant, the user can manifest its power. When gathering the magical essence, the user's particular focus will manifest. The strength of the magic's power is relative to the user's sense of imagination and wonder.
  • Magical Resistance: Because their mind is opened for the truth and is able to see magic, this provides a small amount of protection from the effects of the supernatural.
  • Bond - Wishes of Mankind: A shard has the potential of growing stronger with the user based on the lives s/he affects in a positive sense. As the user makes the wishes come true, there is a bit of belief placed onto the user. This bond allows the shard to grow in strength to even one day regain the strength of a full shooting star.
The great beasts around the world see the shooting star as part of the divine way that the world operates. As such, they treat it with great respect and are wary of humans having their hands on it, for they tend to corrupt its power. As such, they try to keep it out of humans' hands whenever possible.

(If by Anima rules...)

::Statistical Effect::

Power: Fireball
-- Range of 150'
-- Base Damage of 50
-- Radius of 10
-- Useable 3/Day
-- Cost: 60 Zeon (Drained automatically from Zeon pool)

Quality: The crystal is a gem of +10 quality. Its base stats reflects this accordingly.

Now, I want to have it reflect off of the person's Power. Ideally, I want anyone to be able to use it for plot point reason, but its ability is relative to the person's imagination, sense of wonder, and belief in the former two. Power is a good stat to represent it.

"Shut up, maggot! You are not my brother.. She is my mother, not yours! I'll crush you and leave you broken before I kill all of your friends! And I'll finish you off!"

Reize's half-brother. Same mother, different father. He is about a year older than Reize, but they both look exactly alike save for th fact that he doesn't have the ahoge that Reize has. As of now, he has no name. So, for the sake of the matter, I will call him 'The Antagonist'.

He is influenced by many things:
  • Luca Blight from Suikoden II, who relied on no supernatural help or any demons to help him. He is a man who was strong by his own merit. He survived countless battles against an army, arrows by an army, and a one on one battle.
  • Ernst from Ys VI, who was the inverse of Adol Christin, the main character. The Antagonist is the same way.
  • Bass/Forte from Megaman/Rockman, who is the nega-version of Mega Man. He always came out as a savage, independent individual. In fact, I think of the Antagonist on that level.

The Antagonist

He is the inverse of Reize in many ways:
  • Where as Reize is compassionate, he is savagely brutal.
  • Where as Reize is friendly, he is antagonistic and rebellious.
  • Where as Reize is loyal, he is doing it because it is expected of him, but he carries no loyalty to the cause.
  • Where as Reize is selfless to help the people, he is selfish and will strike down anyone who gets in his way. Including allies and 'friends'.
  • Where as Reize is a quick fighter, he is a strong fighter with an indomitable will.

I imagined him as someone who fought in the forefront with an army. Maybe he's a high ranking commander, or maybe he is part of a hidden sect that carries out the punishment.

The Antagonist does not care for the people that he's working with. In a way, he is like Sync/h from Tales of the Abyss. He'll do it for the sake of causing people suffering.

I imagined him having the opposite life that Reize had, in terms of a good father. This likely made him bitter. In the end, I imagined that... if his life was the same as Reize, he maybe would had turned out different.

In the end, both Reize and the Antagonist want to find out who their mother is. Except... the Antagonist is definitely not likely to acknowledge Reize as a 'brother', but a maggot who pisses him off when he looks at him.

But, that is also the reason why I like the concept of the Antagonist. If an evil source wishes to offer him his help for his soul upon his death, he'll just say 'Fuck you' and get up on his own. It's why I admire his concept. He doesn't rely on the supernatural to help him. He will not beg for help. If anything, he'll cut down anyone who dares help him. He is a man who is self-sufficient.

He is not a villain who is trying to take over the world. He is just a young man who is angry at the way his life is, finding an outlet. He may have peaceful moments.

This is an entire explanation about Reize, as to what he was like before, his redesign and development, and my muses about him. He has been a concept in development since the end of 2004.

You know what? I mused over that. I toyed around with the idea of him eventually being knighted or becoming a prince(hence the being with the princess part) or continuing his adventures. I don't imagine him settling down in one place though.

My recent times in FFMUSH and chats with my friends has given me a new establishment of what his new basis are.

However, it established a solid basis for Reize:
1) He's more of a ranger/rogue in terms of skills. He was trained to hunt in a small village and tends to rely on his resources.
2) He has a bag full of small trinkets and tricks used to help him outwit folks.
3) He's a semi-hand-to-hand fighter, specializing in kicks rather than hands. However, he's definately far from monk level.
4) He's built for a more JRPG environments that isn't melodramatic(FF has crossed that line for me to become sick of it).
5) He has an penchant for getting lost a lot.
6) Trouble comes /HIS/ way no matter what.
7) Reize has the knack for using magical objects without any knowledge of it.
8) His pendant is an overall theme for Young Reize that starts him on his journey. With that, his pendant is the source of his ability to use magic.

To make it just like an RPG, I'll be starting him off at the very beginning of the story: No experience, no magic, etc.

That's my musing.
