"Shut up, maggot! You are not my brother.. She is my mother, not yours! I'll crush you and leave you broken before I kill all of your friends! And I'll finish you off!"
Reize's half-brother. Same mother, different father. He is about a year older than Reize, but they both look exactly alike save for th fact that he doesn't have the ahoge that Reize has. As of now, he has no name. So, for the sake of the matter, I will call him 'The Antagonist'.
He is influenced by many things:
- Luca Blight from Suikoden II, who relied on no supernatural help or any demons to help him. He is a man who was strong by his own merit. He survived countless battles against an army, arrows by an army, and a one on one battle.
- Ernst from Ys VI, who was the inverse of Adol Christin, the main character. The Antagonist is the same way.
- Bass/Forte from Megaman/Rockman, who is the nega-version of Mega Man. He always came out as a savage, independent individual. In fact, I think of the Antagonist on that level.
The Antagonist
He is the inverse of Reize in many ways:
- Where as Reize is compassionate, he is savagely brutal.
- Where as Reize is friendly, he is antagonistic and rebellious.
- Where as Reize is loyal, he is doing it because it is expected of him, but he carries no loyalty to the cause.
- Where as Reize is selfless to help the people, he is selfish and will strike down anyone who gets in his way. Including allies and 'friends'.
- Where as Reize is a quick fighter, he is a strong fighter with an indomitable will.
I imagined him as someone who fought in the forefront with an army. Maybe he's a high ranking commander, or maybe he is part of a hidden sect that carries out the punishment.
The Antagonist does not care for the people that he's working with. In a way, he is like Sync/h from Tales of the Abyss. He'll do it for the sake of causing people suffering.
I imagined him having the opposite life that Reize had, in terms of a good father. This likely made him bitter. In the end, I imagined that... if his life was the same as Reize, he maybe would had turned out different.
In the end, both Reize and the Antagonist want to find out who their mother is. Except... the Antagonist is definitely not likely to acknowledge Reize as a 'brother', but a maggot who pisses him off when he looks at him.
But, that is also the reason why I like the concept of the Antagonist. If an evil source wishes to offer him his help for his soul upon his death, he'll just say 'Fuck you' and get up on his own. It's why I admire his concept. He doesn't rely on the supernatural to help him. He will not beg for help. If anything, he'll cut down anyone who dares help him. He is a man who is self-sufficient.
He is not a villain who is trying to take over the world. He is just a young man who is angry at the way his life is, finding an outlet. He may have peaceful moments.
